"For
all have sinned, and come short of the glory of
God"
- Romans
3:23 | |
|
"But
God commendeth his love toward us, in that,
while we were yet sinners, Christ died for
us."
- Romans
5:8 | |
|
"For
the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God
is eternal life through Jesus Christ our
Lord."
- Romans
6:23 | |
|
"That if
thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord
Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God
hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be
saved.
For
with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;
and with the mouth confession is made unto
salvation."
- Romans
10:9-10 | |

It is by asking for
salvation that we receive and by confessing that
we are forgiven. 1 John 1:9 reads:
If
we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to
forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.
The
prayer that goes something like
this
Lord Jesus, I am
a sinner. I know I cannot save myself. Now in
faith I ask your forgiveness. I repent of my
sins and I accept your gift of eternal life. I
thank you for dying for me on Calvarys cross. I
accept you and trust you as Savior and Lord of
my life.
Amen
is what Jesus affirmed when
he said, Verily, verily,
I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath
everlasting life (John
6:47). |
