Dr. Seuss Vows, Roll Tide, & Red Solo Cup Weddings

The only real requirement for the marriage ceremony is the vows, which is the affirmation of “Yes, I agree to be hitched to them.” There are some fun ways to do that, like…

ROLL TIDE ROLL…

I happen to like the Roll Tide vows. Instead of saying “I do” you can respond, as one couple has, by saying loud and proud… “Roll Tide!” If you are Bama fans, you also exit the ceremony with Alabama marching band music.

I have done the Roll Tide Roll yell in place of or just prior to the pronouncing of “Husband & Wife” which works great when the whole bridal party joins in with me.

(I suppose you could do the same with a “War Eagle,” but that might cost you more.)

DR. SEUSS VOWS…

Here is a funny one for you. I’ve put these Dr. Seuss Vows together many years ago for a bride, who happened to also be a nurse at the hospital I worked at as a chaplain, by way of a joke. They didn’t use actually use it, but a few other couples have. It kind of fits better with a non-traditional comedy format wedding, because the sing-song verses can seem a little odd in the flow of a traditional ceremony.

Do you ____________, take ____________,

to be your lawfully wedded (wife/husband)

to have and to hold to love all your life?

will you love through the good and even the bad?

will you love though you may be happy or sad?

will you love when their rich or stuck in a deficit?

will you love when their sick or physically fit?

will you love till the end,

will you love your whole life long with all of your heart?

will you love, will you love (her/him) till death do you part?

KIM KARDASHIAN…

And here’s one that I’ve never done and don’t expect to do,…it’s the Kim Kardashian wedding vows:

“…for richer for poorer, for sickness for health, for a week or two…”

RED SOLO CUP…

Why not add a little of your party to your wedding ceremony with a Red Solo Cup Unity Sand Ceremony or at the end, just like the Roll Tide Roll yell above, just before or in place of the pronouncement of “Husband and Wife”?

I can have a red solo cup near and when I say…

“And now, by your vows of fidelity and pledge of affection, I now pronounce… Red Solo Cup, I fill you up! Proceed to party!”
