  P E R S O N A L   C H R I S T I A N   T E S T I M O N Y  . . .

In 1980, in Toledo, Ohio, I was the lead singer for the rock band Pyramid and was returning from a club performance. Having passed out at the wheel, my vehicle headed over the guardrail off an I-75 overpass. Providentially, an Ohio state highway patrolman witnessed the scene and said “it was as if the hand of God reached down and put your car back on the road.”

I knew in my heart that God literally reached down and intervened, saving my life. Not knowing why God would even bother to save me in the midst of my hell-bound waywardness; I sought answers from a devote born-again Christian, the mother of one of my band mates.

Thinking I was high, she gave me a tract called, “Four Spiritual Laws ” and sent me away. However, after reading it, my life was transformed from Rock n Roll rages to Rock of Ages praises! I was raised and schooled Roman Catholic, but this was an encounter with God that set me off on a life long spiritual journey. I was a 17 year old boy, spiraling down hill fast, with no hope of seeing the ripe old age of 21, and worse yet, no desire too! However, God had a plan for my life!

I went on to seminary and ministerial ordination, and have served as a church planter, a local church pastor, a hospital chaplain, and denominational Prayer Ministries Coordinator with the Gulf States Conference of Seventh-day Adventist, and most recently as the Biblical Prayer Ministries Coordinator with the Mobile Baptist Association.

After being saved, I began devouring Scripture. I walked away from Catholicism and began a church search that led to a missionary Baptist group and later to the Seventh-Day Adventist Church where I became an ordained pastor, only to leave because of doctrinal differences and an unwanted divorce, and to be reconnect with my original Baptist roots, 20 years later, at Dayspring Baptist Church in Mobile, Alabama.

Perhaps you have not yet discovered God's plan for your life? Friend, God does have a purpose for you. You may not feel like it, but know this - feeling is like a cabose! A locomotive doesn't need a cabose to get to its destination. And God does have a destination for you!

Why not begin where I did and read what I read - “ Four Spiritual Laws ?”
