About Me

I am the pastor of CrossHope Chapel, a hospital chaplain, and if I am not at the beach I am likely writing something to post to my blog.

I do not take a salary from CrossHope Chapel but rely on my beach wedding officiating ministry. I have officiated over 4000 beach weddings and vow renewals along Gulf Coast MississippiAlabamaNorthwest Florida, and have been featured on ABC Good Morning AmericaFox News, and the Christian Television Network.

My role at CrossHope Chapel is to lead in the facilitation of our verse-by-verse chapter-by-chapter Bible teachings and in providing pastoral care for those in our fellowship.

My philosophy and practice of ministry is based on Acts 6:4 and Ephesians 4:11, which means that I am most passionate about praying for our people and ministering the Word of God to them as a “pastor and teacher.”

Since giving my life to the Lord Jesus Christ, (you can read about my miracle conversion at my personal testimony page) I have been involved in vocational church ministry beginning in the early 1980’s as an itinerary revivalist, hospital chaplain, and senior pastor with churches and ministries in Ohio, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Alabama.

have invested over 30 years of my adult life in protestant church ministry, having been affiliated with Seventh-day Adventist churches (please read Former Adventist Minister) and involved with Southern Baptist churches since 2001.

I hold degrees in religion and pastoral ministry from Southern Adventist University, post-graduate Clinical Pastoral Education with University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia and Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Florida.

Prior to starting to starting CrossHope Chapel as a simple church ministry, I served for eight years as a hospital chaplain with Providence Hospital in Mobile, Alabama. In January 2020, I have rejoined the hospital as an on-call chaplain again.

I enjoy writing and have written several books including Prayer is the Answer, Ask the BibleDaily Promise One-Minute Devotionals, Sentence Sermons, and Simple Wedding Ceremony Planning Guide.

My family and I live in west Mobile, Alabama and that includes my beautiful wife Steph, two of my four children, and our family pets Keef (a Dachshund), Jael (a German Shepherd), and Rocky (a Blue Heeler mix rescue dog).

I regularly write articles at my pastoral blog in the categories of Bible Answers, Mere Observations, Once Adventist, Simpler Church, Pastoral Notes, and Prophecy Outlook.
