Need to Find a Wedding Officiant?

Pastor Steve Durkac Posted on August 15, 2019 by Steve DurkacMarch 24, 2020avatar

As you may know, it can be very hard to find a minister to officiate your wedding ceremony if you’re not involved in a church congregation. Pastor’s have boards and committees to answer to about whom they officiating weddings for, and most steer away from inactive, non-members, or couples whom they may have to invest the time without any “pay-off” to their offering plate. I do know a few pastors who are sometimes available to … Continue reading →

Premarital Counseling?

Pastor Steve Durkac Posted on July 28, 2019 by Steve DurkacMarch 24, 2020avatar

I do not require premarital counseling before I’ll officiate a wedding, but that doesn’t mean I don’t believe in it. I just believe that a couple must want biblical guidance in order to benefit from it. In fact, couples who themselves understand the value of premarital counseling and engage in some sort of “premarital counseling” reduce their risk of divorcing by 30%. I believe in premarital counseling that is marriage education based, rather than problem-issue driven. Marriage education is a lot like doing … Continue reading →

Reasons for Vow Renewal Ceremonies?

Pastor Steve Durkac Posted on July 20, 2019 by Steve DurkacMarch 24, 2020avatar

I gladly officiate Vow Renewal Ceremonies across the beaches and areas of the Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida Gulf Coast. Vow renewal ceremonies are an excellent way to celebrate your marriage relationship and reinforce your commitment to your spouse. Vow renewals are best known for celebrations of a wedding anniversary, but over the years I’ve officiated vow renewals for many other reasons, too. Here are just some of the reasons, other than an anniversary celebration, why couples choose … Continue reading →

Wedding Rehearsal Help?

Pastor Steve Durkac Posted on July 15, 2019 by Steve DurkacMarch 24, 2020avatar

I have had the honor and experience of officiating and overseeing over 4000 weddings. Over the years I have learned some things about wedding details and potential glitches in planning the ceremony, especially when it comes to how to incorporate your ideas into the ceremony flow without throwing the crescendo of the moment off track. Having the honor of being a part of so many weddings has made ceremony coordinating second nature for me. I have literally … Continue reading →

The Grandma Story

Pastor Steve Durkac Posted on May 21, 2019 by Steve DurkacJuly 24, 2020avatar

In 1923, my grandmother, Mary, was asked to be the maid-of-honor for her best friend’s wedding. As the wedding approached in her hometown near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Mary wondered what the best man might be like. She had heard that Lou was also a recent immigrant from Czechoslovakia and also an available bachelor, but he wouldn’t be arriving until just before the wedding began. During the wedding, Lou, the best man, took a liking for Mary … Continue reading →

If you are unavailable can you give a recommendation on another minister?

Pastor Steve Durkac Posted on October 11, 2015 by Steve DurkacMarch 24, 2020avatar

Yes, I do know a few clergyman who may be available to officiate and I will gladly give you a recommendation if I am not able to help. I can only refer you to church ordained Christian ministers, and not an “online officiant” because of legal risks concerning the use of internet officiants.

What do you provide for the wedding officiating fees?

Pastor Steve Durkac Posted on October 11, 2015 by Steve DurkacMarch 24, 2020avatar

First and foremost, I provide the peace of mind and assurance that I will be there and provide the officiating service, as an ordained vocational pastor, which will make your wedding ceremony legal, dignified, and relaxed. The officiating fee is for my time, and there is certainly no extra fees from me for adding anything like a sand ceremony or whatever you may may want to include. I will even be happy to take a … Continue reading →

Do you require a deposit?

Pastor Steve Durkac Posted on October 11, 2015 by Steve DurkacMarch 24, 2020avatar

No. I don’t require a deposit, but should you have any changes in plans, just let me know so I can reflect that change in my schedule. I fully understand that plans change, people change, budgets change, so don’t feel bad about canceling with me.
