The account of Revelation 13 tells of an economical global enforcement that will punish those who refuse to acknowledge or employ “the mark of the beast” into their lives.

Revelation 13:17 states, “no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”

My point here is not to explain who or what the details are on the mark or the beast, but to stir you to “awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed” (Romans 13:11).

It doesn’t even matter if you are pre-trib or post-trib, because some interpret the enforcement of the mark to be an event that takes place after the rapture while some understand it happening before the Lord’s return like the Egyptian plaques before the Exodus.

What matters is that the enforcement of the mark is in the plans now!

A recent Salon Magazine article has placed the plan of economical enforcement of social issues in the plans by the political left. Here are the few sentences that grabbed my attention: “We can accomplish that by, for example, imposing capital controls—measures that stop the free movement of capital in response to changing social and economic conditions. But to pass economic reforms as significant as these, we can’t just agitate in the streets, as important as that is. We have to be in power.” 

Accomplish taking power away from the people by “imposing capital controls—measures that stop the free movement of capital in response to changing social”? I don’t know how the social justice warriors in clerical garb can promote the political left agenda with a straight face.

This is really no surprise to those of us who follow religious liberty in our country because we have seen the “imposing capital controls” vindictively ruin cake bakers and wedding photographers for refusing to promote social conditions.

I realize that we don’t know the exact details of how the future is going to unfold, the outcome of the 2020 presidential election, or the precise economic condition that will catapult an Anti-Christ to world leadership, but when we read these type of related things we ought to find comfort that God is setting up His soon return.

In fact, Jesus said, “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh” (Luke 21:28).
