Finding peace in today’s sobering headlines can be tough. You don’t have to be prone to discouragement to feel a little unsettled about the future.

It appears that we are watching the decline of American leadership as a strong a defender of the same Judeo-Christian values that built our nation, and Satan is rapidly filling that cultural void with divisive and dividing issues.

What are we to do in order to not go through our days in despair?

The answer is in Isaiah 26:3-4 “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock” (ESV).

While we ought to acknowledge the problems and do all within our earthly ability to combat those societal problems, let’s not be dismayed. Instead, let us intentionally fix our eyes on Jesus, the Prince of Peace, and the soon Blessed Hope!
