The early followers of Jesus, who faced trials, persecution, and uncertainty about their future, took heart encouraging one another with an Aramaic greeting, “Maranatha!“

Maranatha means “the Lord is coming!” or “come, Lord Jesus” as in Revelation 22:20 “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!” (ESV). At CrossHope Chapel Bible Church we share in the encouragement of knowing the Lord is coming back, especially as current events remind us that our “redemption is drawing near“ (Luke 21:28).

I recently viewed an hour long documentary video clip on the history of Satan’s attempt to bring the nations of the globe under a single government rule by the secret societies that underlie globalism. That is no surprise because Revelation reveals that an Anti-Christ authority figure will sit on the throne of a coming world government. Satan is a student of Scripture, a hearer but not a doer, so no wonder he wants to abolish the nations and establish a single world kingdom before Jesus does.

The “America First” policy of the Trump administration is not being well received by the globalist leaders. German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Emmanuel Macron, and the global financier George Soros, have all been in the news lately criticizing President Trump for not cooperating with the global agendas of current world leaders.

Former presidents cooperated with the global agendas because they saw American involvement as the way to stay on the forefront of any future global government structure and apparently some were fine with gambling our American influence, money, and resources as bargaining chips. However, now that President Trump is no longer willing to blow the paycheck at their casinos (so-to-speak), the globalist are angry at America and desperate to force the United States into cooperating again.

Just last week, Pope Francis had an interview with an Italian newspaper in which he said the United States of America has “a distorted vision of the world” and Americans must be ruled by a world government, as soon as possible, “for their own good.” In the same interview he said that Europe must take on a “federal structure,” similar to feudal times when the peasants were ruled by monarchs.

The Pope’s want of subjecting the United States to some type of higher governing authority would be laughable if we didn’t have Bible prophecy or our own liberal globalist politicians. Bible prophecy warns us in Revelation 13 of a globalist control and the news media regularly features American politicians spewing hate against our Republic, our citizens, and our national borders.

While the globalist will eventually get their 15-minutes of fame, take heart that it will not last. (In case your mind is already traveling ahead to a few other end-time prophecies, let me say, yes, the Anti-Christ will have his rule, Israel will have its testing, the church will be with its bridegroom, and the wrath of God will usher in the millennium reign of Christ on earth.) Here I just want us to know that the globalist are going to get louder and more aggressive in their endeavor, but we should take hope in our Lord’s soon return. Our Lord will come and He will reign forever!

Daniel records a prophecy of King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream of a statue. Daniel interprets the statue to mean that there will be four global kingdoms before our Lord sets up His reign, the last of the earthly ones was the Roman Empire, but after that, like “the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, it shall be a divided kingdom, but some of the firmness of iron shall be in it, just as you saw iron mixed with the soft clay…but they will not hold together, just as iron does not mix with clay” (Daniel 2:41-43, ESV).

Daniel’s prophecy goes on to state that “in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever” (Daniel 2:44, ESV).

John records in the Revelation the same end, the establishment of the Kingdom, “Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, ‘The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever'” (Revelation 11:15, ESV).

Let men of self-importance declare their biblical ignorance in public, because we know the Psalmist declared, “Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice…before the Lord, for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness, and the peoples in his faithfulness” (Psalm 96:11-13, ESV). 

There once was a time in my Christian walk when I could see signs of our “redemption drawing near“ in the bad attitudes of people, an increase of crimes, a general sense of humanity losing its love, but even in that I would find a glimpse of reprieve in thinking that the world stage wasn’t quite ready. I now think the world stage is ready.

I suspect if we could pull back the unseen curtain of the heavens we would see demons frantically going to and fro dispelling their lies among earth’s leaders, but I also suspect we would see valiant angelic beings holding back the winds of strife, shielding those who claim the Savior, and managing the unfolding of events, including the meetings of men at such places as the United Nations, the annual G8 economic summit, etc..

Do you know what else I suspect? I suspect that the heavenly host join us in saying, Maranatha! “Come, Lord Jesus!”
