Over a period of a year, I read through an old devotional book titled Maranatha by Ellen White, in case you are unfamiliar she was a 20th century Christian writer who died in 1915.
It’s a devotional that was first introduced in the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the 1970’s consisting of Ellen White’s prolific writings and dealing with the theme of looking for the Lord’s return.
I made a practice of concluding my reading time in Maranatha by summarizing some of the thoughts in a Twitter length takeaway.
Ellen White’s writings have long been an inspiration to me, since the first book I actually read was one of hers’ called Steps to Christ.
There are some great thoughts enunciated in the book Maranatha and I wanted to share them with my CrossHope Chapel parishioners but without the Sabbatarian-eschatological tangents.
As you read through these Sentence Sermons you will find some phrases and keywords that I have intentionally copied but not quotes.
You’ll find those takeaway Sentence Sermons at the month links below, but they do not necessarily correspond with the date of the devotionals in the book.
Please enjoy and Maranatha!
