The following is an email I sent to CrossHope Chapel on May 30, 2019:
I want to let you know that as of this week CrossHope Chapel is no longer affiliated with the Calvary Global Network of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa.
On May 23, 2019 I sent an email to Calvary Global Network simply stating this:
Our church fellowship, CrossHope Chapel in Mobile, Alabama, would like
to be removed from the CGN roster / church finder.
We are moving in a different doctrinal direction and we now find
ourselves out of harmony with the CGN.
Pastor Steve Durkac

I decided not to go into the entire issue as I shared it with you all two Sunday’s ago, partly because the pastor’s conference didn’t take place yet and I thought to wait to see what reactions come out of the pastor’s conference regarding the speakers.
On May 29, 2019 I received an email verifying that we are no longer associated with the Calvary Global Network of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. If you missed the back story on this decision you can visit my earlier posts Going to California and The Hyphenated Christian.
If you would like to dig a little deeper on this creeping comprise, view this YouTube video titled Social Justice and The Gospel.
The video is a 60-minute panel discussion at a recent conservative scholars conference with Dr. Josh Buice, Dr. James White, Dr. Voddie Baucham, Tom Buck, Phil Johnson, and Dr. Tom Ascol, all of which except one has Southern Baptist ties.
These men talk about the problem of today’s church diminishing sin and folding it into the traditional church. They also make mention of Sam Allberry, the same-sex attracted priest who is speaking at the pastor’s conference at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa.
