Prayer and Weather Threat
This morning we awoke to an upgrade of the weather threat, extreme conditions north of us and more moderate here locally, but with the same need to be aware of damaging winds and tornadoes.
As I looked at the high warning area that is now a 5/5 zone, it occurred to me that we have family and friends across this same area that extends across all of central Mississippi and into western Alabama.
My first thought was that Shirley’s sister-in-law Dianne and her son Shaun probably don’t need to be worrying about weather threats on top of their own cardiac cares. I thought of several people I know personally across that area through ministry.
In that area George has a sister in the Meridian, my children Payton and Parker are in Tuscaloosa, and our dear friends Vic and Donna are in Hattiesburg.
It seems like it would be good for us all to be in prayer today for these family and friends, and others there in this area, that have awaken to the same impending upgrade of weather threat.
Of course, let’s be in prayer for each other here locally, too. Let’s pray for safety of life and property, faith in God’s sovereignty, and personal peace through His promises, including…
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” — Isaiah 41:10
“Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared.” — Proverbs 3:25-26
If you have any immediate prayer request through with today’s weather please let me know I will share that with church fellowship through our Prayer Alert Text system.
