The mission statement of CrossHope Chapel is very simple: “To love God and make His love known.”

If you think of it, it is the love for God that distinguishes the believer from the unbeliever, the saved from the unsaved, and the biblical Christian from the worldly pursuers of unrighteousness.

Jesus said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” (Matthew 22:37). On the other hand, 1 John 4:8 tells us that “Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.”

1 Corinthians 8:3  states “But if anyone loves God, he is known by God” and in response to those hostile to Him, Jesus says “I know that you do not have the love of God within you” (John 5:22, ESV).

If a man loves evil, he pursues it. If a man loves God, he pursues God. He sets his thoughts on the things of God. He considers and contemplates the goodness of God. He hopes on the promises of God. To love God is to guide your heart, mind, and life by word of God.

1 John 2:5 tells us that by believing and behaving in accordance with God’s word that “the love of God is perfected” in us and “By this we may know that we are in him” (ESV).
