How We Speak
“Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.” — James 1:26 NIV
A man’s heart changes under the conviction of religion but the first place it’s noticeable is in the way one speaks. The faith that empowers will tame the tongue and pull the reigns back on vulgarity, criticism, and the use of words to intentionally hurt another.
If one claims to have changed, listen to the way they speak. If they’re still using repulsive language or verbally cutting others down, their faith is worthless.
Let us remember, the changes that one’s faith make upon the heart are evident by the words spoken.
