Hope
“My days have passed, my plans are shattered. Yet the desires of my heart turn night into day; in the face of the darkness light is near.” — Job 17:11-12 NIV
I’m guessing the emptiness of knowing your life is soon over and your dreams were never realized, is a hopeless feeling. Having a body too old to cooperate with your plans is a sad place to be, unless you find something in your heart to hope for.
When the body and mind slow down, it’s time to look within your heart to find something to hope for. If the things that you’ve cherished in your life are held dear in your heart you can draw hope from there to lift your spirit.
Hope comes in the form of faith in eternal life in Heaven, or a meaningful joy from raising your family, or a sense of peace and satisfaction for years you’ve been given.
