Famous to Few
“Yet we urge you…to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you.” — 1 Thessalonians 4:11 NIV
Our world tends to glorify those who have made it big in the field of sports or on the stage of music or up on the silver screen in movies. It’s easy for children to yard to grow up with dreams of being a professional football player or a rock star or movie star. There is a sense in a young person’s mind that life is about being known to the masses and almost a disdain to being an unknown.
The truth is, very few reach the level of fame that celebrities obtain through whatever field or means. The fact is, it’s the fame of being known to a few that enriches our life. On our death bed, the audiences are absent and only our closest loved ones care. A quiet life rewards us with peace, contentment, and love that can’t be known through fame.
This week, find little ways you can quietly do something for someone’s good and be grateful that only a few will ever know about it.
