Speaking

Speaking to public audiences has been part of my adult life as a minister and as a once humorous banquet speaker, having presented to hundreds of corporate and church gatherings. In the past I was active as a Toastmaster in speaking competition and was a state level award winner.

Today, as a hospice chaplain, I am still available to speak to civic groups, church groups, and other audiences on the topics of end-of-life issues, grief, and topics listed below.

Please contact me with any questions or inquiries.

Dying and Grieving

While this can be a somber topic, I assure you that my presentations on death and grief will feel light and overflow with beneficial information. Always tailored to the needs of the audience, I make this presentation with the practical application in mind. Appropriate for civic and church group audiences, this presentation is based on my book Dying and Grieving: What Loved Ones Can Expect. Visit my Books page to learn more.

Understanding Tragedy

This topic explores the biblical basis and spiritual forces that have gotten mankind to the circumstances of tragedy, trauma, and horrific events that shatter our otherwise peaceful lives. A presentation on this topic is best for church groups because it involves an explanation of theology to make sense of evil and answer the question, Why? This presentation deals with some of the information from my Dying and Grieving: What Loved Ones Can Expect book but delves more into the pastoral overview.

Therapeutic Laughter

Prior to the pandemic I frequently spoke to civic groups, church groups, and caregiver groups on the topic of therapeutic laughter as a means of stress relief and personal resiliency. The medical and psychological benefits of laughter have been cited in the top medical research journals, and this presentation will be an edu-tainment event your group will benefit from for months ahead. Please visit my Laughter Care Programs page to learn more.
