God Sees
“For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.” — 2 Chronicles 16:9 NIV
Sometimes life has a way of making us feel alone, ignored, or unrecognized. You could be a stay at home mom, you could be a professional that spends your day by yourselves, or you could be an employee whose achievements are never acknowledged by your employer. You could be anyone working at anything but not being affirmed and left feeling unseen isn’t exactly motivating.
Feeling unseen often leads us to ask questions like, Why should I care if no one else cares? or What is the purpose behind this if no one else even knows? or If what I’m doing doesn’t matter to anyone why should I not abandon this for something new?
The truth is, we may not always be seen by others, but we are always seen by God. In fact, the verse stresses that God doesn’t just see us but He sees us in order to strengthen us! God intervenes and encourages us in our times of loneliness when we intentionally recall that He sees. After all, whatever we do ought be done to the glory and honor of the God we serve.
